Free standing mixed media sculpture
Platypus: 3d large count half cross-stitch; stitched ‘in-the round’; wool and mohair (brushed); bead claws and eyes attached.
Environment: hooked rug using a wide variety of yarns and fibres; painted canvas water in between perspex and masonite; Coke can and 3d large count half cross-stitch (& embroidered) rocks attached.
Free-standing sign: large count half cross-stitch sign (mounted on armature) attached to hooked rug using a wide variety of yarns and fibres; large count half cross-stitch & embroidered rocks attached; handmade ladybird attached.

Note: Free-standing sign was later included in a vain attempt to prevent people (particularly young children) from cuddling/absconding with platypus!
